About Sentinel

Building the security layer Web3 forgot.

Mission

Sentinel exists because the Web3 ecosystem grew faster than its security infrastructure. Every week, users lose assets not to sophisticated zero-day exploits, but to stale token approvals, phishing signatures, and malicious contracts that a basic scan would have flagged. The attack surface is public, the data is on-chain, and the tools to interrogate it have been available for years — they just have not been assembled into something a non-expert can use in thirty seconds.

We believe security should not be the exclusive domain of developers and auditors. If you hold cryptocurrency, you face the same threat vectors as institutional participants, with far fewer resources to defend against them. Sentinel's mission is to close that gap — to give every wallet holder the visibility that until now required custom tooling or expensive professional services.

Our philosophy is simple: read-only by default, user-controlled by design. We never request transaction signing permissions. We never hold custody of any asset. We query the same public blockchain data that block explorers use and present it in a form that enables action. What you do with the information is always your decision.

The Product

Sentinel is a wallet security scanner. Enter any Ethereum-compatible wallet address and Sentinel performs a real-time analysis across three dimensions: approval audit, threat intelligence cross-reference, and behavioral pattern analysis. The entire process completes in under eight seconds and requires no wallet connection, no signature, and no account creation.

The approval audit enumerates every ERC-20 and NFT approval associated with the address — including unlimited approvals granted years ago to protocols you may no longer use. Each spender contract is resolved against a live threat database that aggregates intelligence from Forta, GoPlus, and proprietary drainer-tracking infrastructure. Contracts flagged as malicious, deprecated, or compromised are surfaced with severity ratings.

The behavioral layer examines your transaction history for anomalous patterns: dust inflows from known attack wallets, unusual MEV interactions, and signature replay signatures. This is the layer that catches threats before they appear in databases — because attacker behavior has statistical fingerprints that precede their addresses being formally flagged. All results are rendered client-side. Nothing is stored on Sentinel's servers beyond a 30-day cache of scan results used for performance optimization.

The Team

Maya Chen
Co-Founder & CEO
Previously security research at ConsenSys. Eight years in offensive security, specializing in smart contract vulnerability research and blockchain forensics. Led the threat intelligence program that identified the Nomad bridge exploit pattern before public disclosure.
Alex Petrov
Co-Founder & CTO
Smart contract audit lead at OpenZeppelin (2020–2023). Author of EIP-4788 and contributor to EIP-3074. Deep background in EVM internals, formal verification, and high-throughput RPC infrastructure. Built Sentinel's core scanning engine.
Sarah Jensen
Head of Threat Intelligence
Former incident response lead at Chainalysis. Spent five years tracing funds across chains, building attribution models for major hacks, and working with law enforcement on asset recovery cases. Oversees Sentinel's threat database and detection logic.
Tomas Rivera
Head of Engineering
Built early indexing and API infrastructure at Etherscan. Architected systems that now process hundreds of millions of on-chain queries per day. Leads Sentinel's backend engineering, infrastructure reliability, and data pipeline work.

Backing

Sentinel is backed by seed-stage capital from leading Web3 security and infrastructure investors. We have raised sufficient runway to execute our product roadmap without compromising on our core principle: we are not a custodian and do not handle user funds. Our investors were selected for alignment with our security-first philosophy, not for valuation pressure. We are not currently seeking additional fundraising and have no immediate plans to tokenize any aspect of the product.
